The series starts as story of a second year art student - Yuuta Takemoto who lives in a small room of an old building. He lives a typical college life: sleeping, eating, and dealing with troublesome apartment mates like greedy Morita and architecture student Mayama. His life in the beginning is shown as pretty dull and colorless, however, his life changes when he meets a talented 18 year old girl, Hagumi Hanamoto.
The story involves following characters:

Yuuta Takemoto :
He is second year art student. He is gentle & kind.

Morita Shinobu :
In earlier part of series shown as greedy and dark character, however very talented.
In the later part of series, his stingy behavior has been explained.

Ayumi Yamada :
Very strong girl, but have mindset of a small girl.

Hanamoto Shuji :
Godfather of Hagumi. He treats Hagumi as his own child.

Harada Rika :

Friend of Hanamoto Shuji & love of Mayama.

Morita Kouru :

Elder brother of Morita Shinobu

Mayama Takumi :
Architecture student who has just joined Rika at work.

Hanamoto Hagumi :

Very cute and very talented girl, love of Morita Shinobu & Takemoto Yuta.

Nomiya Takumi :

He is the ideal of Mayama and loves Yamada.

Now a days people have a perception that animes are just cartoons and are meant to be for children only. However anime are different and Honey & Clover is the one I can say is surely suitable for grown ups as well. Its too hard to paint a generic college romantic series into such a lovable series. Series not only contains romance & drama but also comedy. At times serious turns are also very well portrayed. Other human behaviors like trust & betrayal, joy,jealousy & anger has also been presented excellently. What I like the most about the series is that It has various characters with absolutely different behavior, as we usually have in our friend circle. Series presents transition between college life & work life and best feature of series is, which many other series lack, is that all characters have their part to play and without any one character story could not be so wonderful.

My personal favorite is Shinobu Morita. In Season one of series, he has been depicted as a greedy and dark character. He always go on random jobs to earn lots of money, however he never spend it. He almost live on others money. However his emotions about Hagumi has been presented excellently when he buy mule's for her as expensive as 32000 Yen. Also time to time he appears in disputes and in his own style either stop it or help to resolve it. For example in Episode 3 of first season Yamada is shown beating Mayama in front of public, at that time Morita appears at situation from no where and takes a picture of Yamada and Mayama to divert Yamada's attention to himself rather than Mayama.
Also whenever Yamada is alone and feels lonely, he always supports her and console her.
He understands everyone and everything however act as an idiot to world.

The Highlights

Characters         : Emotionally rich, very much like human.
Romance            : Excellently portrayed with touch of emotions to color the picture.
Animation           : Soft and visually pleasing.
Closure               : Excellent.
Storyline             : Excellent.

                         - Nomiya presents his love to Yamada.

                         - Explanation to Morita's Stingy & Greedy character.

                         - Takemoto & Morita propose to Hagumi.

I like end of series, it's so proper that we could not imagine another better one.
A must watch for all anime lovers.
